A luxury trip to Tawang the Gem of North East India (21 - 28 Jun 2025)
 
Day-wise itinerary specially designed by Wander Womaniya for women-only solo trips in India
 
Day 1: Welcome to North East India
 
Today we all meet at Guwahati airport and head to our city hotel for check-in. Rest today as the rest of the trip is going to be quite hectic. We have the group dinner together.
 
Day 2: Guwahati to Bomdila (390 Km / 9 Hrs)
 
Have an early breakfast at the hotel & checkout as we start our Arunachal journey. Today we will cross Bhutan border and travel all day to reach Bomdila.
 
Day 3: Bomdila to Tawang (180 Km / 7 Hrs)
 
Another early start today. Enroute witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 14000 ft, Sela lake and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. (Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place). Overnight in Tawang.
 
Sela lake is a high-altitude lake, keep acute mountain sickness in mind. Oxygen can be an issue for some. Do not exert your body much.
 
Day 4: The Beautiful Tawang
 
The beautiful land of the Monpa tribes with the “GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE” Monastery - one of the largest Lamaseries of the Mahayana sect in Asia. The birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, the Monastery is 400 years old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. ‘The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains’ at 3500 meters gives you unparallel purity of nature. Visit the monastery and the War Memorial & get to know about the 1962 Indo-Sino war. Overnight in Tawang.
 
Day 5: Madhuri Lake & Indo-China border (Bumla Pass)
 
Have an early breakfast and start for the Indo-China border situated at an altitude of, 16000 feet (Depending if we get the permit, it is completely controlled by border security forces). After our visit to Bum La, we drove back towards our next destination, the famous Madhuri Lake. The actual name is Sangestar Tso (Lake), but it is now known as Madhuri Lake after Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit had shot for Koyla movie here with Shah Rukh Khan! 
 
Day 6: Tawang - Jung Waterfall - Dirang
 
Today we say goodbye to Tawang and start our journey back but we will visit one of the most beautiful waterfalls today. The Jung Waterfalls. Overnight at Dirang.
 
Day 7: Dirang to Guwahati
 
Post breakfast, check out & proceed to Guwahati. After a hectic 8 hoir journey check in at your Guwahati hotel and rest.

Day 8: Optional Visit to Maa Kamakhya temple & drop at Guwahati airport
 
Post breakfast, check out & proceed to Maa Kamakhya temple to experience the divine energy of the Jyotirlinga followed by drop to Guwahati airport.
